life lately

I know I have been cruddy at updating. a lot has been going on. I would say that I will be better about it, but I honestly don't know if I will! so for now, here is a short life update:

I have been exploring the city a lot,

and eating macarons. so, so many macarons,

occasionally some "real" food,

and consequently doing yoga several times a week,

and of course, doing my nails and getting away on the weekends,

and going on lots of dates. with myself,

oh and maybe with Brett Dennen as well,
we're an item now, it's no big deal.

I have been a bit of a social media freak lately. instagram has always been a favorite, so feel free to check it out if you haven't already! my username is sofia_maria.

I can't promise that I will post more often, but I can promise that I will try. I hope my few readers enjoy my efforts on this extremely photo-heavy post!

on yoga

I've been feeling super out of shape (truth) and super down on myself because of it, so I started going to yoga classes again. it's amazing how different the experience can be, depending on the studio and the instructor. it's a different experience entirely. I've been feeling more confident in the accuracy of my poses, even though I can't do most of them because I'm so inflexible. and I'm still not feeling very strong. but I'll get there.

I miss yoga

my groupon to a local yoga studio expired, and I have been too lazy (and nervous to spend the $80) on a month's worth of yoga classes. I have to admit, though, I feel very different abstaining from yoga. after each class, I felt amazing and healthy, and now I feel like a lump. I've definitely felt an increase in stress, and subsequently, weight gain. I'll have to bite the bullet sooner or later.

I know that the Y has discounted student memberships, and it's cheaper than a yoga studio. but there's only one class called "Yoga" at the Y, which is free for members. I just like the variety of classes offered at a yoga studio. now that I've been spoiled by studio classes, I don't know if I should do it! the availability of a pool at the Y is attractive, though...

anyway, I may just have to find some good video classes while I decide.
